Les Pentatomidae (HETEROPTERES) ont des antennes de 5 articles, insérées sous le rebord de la tête. Tarses de 3 articles. L'écusson, triangulaire, est grand mais s'arrête bien avant l'extrémité de l'abdomen. Ces punaises, lorsqu'elles sont inquiétées, peuvent dégager une odeur très désagréable.
